BOOKSTAGRAM
This project was to provide pleasing photographs of book covers for an Instagram that reviews books, @emilylikesreading, and ran for about a year and a half.
Emily wanted the photos to be bright and colourful, so they would stand out on a social media feed.  It was important that all books were clearly identifiable, so all photos had to clearly retain the cover and details in the design. It was vital the photos would draw in people viewing her feed, so that they would read the full review and not scroll past.
The intention was for the photos to feel laid back, and not too staged. To achieve this we took books to a variety of locations, including woodland, lakes, and also assembled flat-lays relating to the books.
Some books were held for their photo, others were inserted into the landscape.
Emily was keen to ensure that wherever possible the location and style of the photo complemented the cover and/or wider theme of the story.

These two books are good examples of how Emily wanted the photos to            reflect the books or stories.
"Such a Fun Age" uses bright neon lighting that complements the colours            on the cover of the book without being too distracting.
"Recipe for a Perfect Wife" uses items that relate more to the story, with items that match the stories theme in the scene.
